What to Bring

    Preparing for a hospital stay is like getting ready for a trip - you usually pack too much. Please use the following list as a guide when preparing for your admission.

    • Things you will definitely need
    • Things you might like to bring to make your stay more comfortable
    • Things to leave at home

    • Information for our Maternity Patients

    Things you will definitely need

    • Current medications or a list of current medications and dosages
    • List of any allergies you have to food or medications
    • Insurance identification/membership card
    • Employer insurance forms, as appropriate
    • Copy of your Advance Directives
    • Medical forms given to you by your Physician

    Things you might like to bring to make your stay more comfortable

    • Gown or pajamas
    • Slippers
    • A few personal items
    • Personal plug-in electrical devices like radios and shavers (will need to be safety-checked prior to use in the hospital)

    • Terry cloth robe

    Information for our Maternity Patients

    As a maternity patient you will have special needs. To make your stay with us more comfortable, you may wish to bring:

    • Support Bra/Underwear
    • Brush and comb
    During your stay, we will provide:
    • Disposable underwear and sanitary pads
    • Nursing gown
    • One T-Shirt for your newborn
    • Cloth diapers
    Upon discharge, you will need:
    • Loose fitting clothes for yourself
    • Clothes and blanket for your newborn
    • Cloth diapers for your newborn
    • Car seat
    Upon discharge, you will be sent home with:
    • Diaper bag
    • 2 pair of disposable underwear and sanitary pads
    • Infant T-shirt
    • 2 disposable diapers
    • Comb for your newborn
